'Top' Top Coats!
Following on from my post on base coats the day before yesterday, Today i'll tell you all about top coats.
You can really get away with using a cheapie nail polish if you use a good quality base and top coat,
Top Coat do a few thing:
They protect the polish underneath: They help the polish stay put by protecting it from scuff and marks.
Top Coats help the polish last longer: Its like putting powder on after applying your foundation, it is possible to get twice as long from your manicure by doing this.
They help give strength to the nail. A lot of top coats now contain ingredients that harden and give an extra strength to the nail helping prevent chips and your nails from cracking.
The pretect the colour of the polish: Some topcoats have UV filters in them to prevent the sun bleaching affecting the colour of the polish.
The can help the polish dry faster: quick dry topcoats are widely available and really help with they drying time of your manicure.
